Dear everyone,

A year has passed since Tallinn final Conference of the ‘Youth for Human Rights’ Project (2016-2019) which was a common effort of seven National Agencies of Erasmus+ programme and European Solidarity Corps .

The follow-up of this effort of situating youth work in Europe on Human Rights Education sees, on one side and thanks to the contribution and dedication of many practitioners, we have continued this cooperation in the form of a follow-up.

We decided now to shed a light to one of the key topics influencing the state of human rights education today in our national contexts: right-wing populism, nationalism, and anti-gender mobilizations.

Please be cordially invited to a webinar organised in cooperation by the Estonian and the Slovak National Agencies of Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps.

This  Zoom webinar carries a title: “Human Rights Education and Nationalism”, and will take place online on Thursday, December 3rd at 2 PM-4.45 PM CET time. The event will consist of a panel and parallel workshops, followed by a conclusion.

Please sign up to the webinar in this link till November 30th!

The aim of the event is to:

  1. Map the scope of nationalism in youth work in comparison of different contexts at national and local level
  2. Get prepared to explore how to deal with HRE and nationalism at local and European level
  3. Create the ground for a network of organisations and practitioners on HRE and nationalism at European level

During the parallel workshops, we will explore which is the relationship of nationalism with the values of human rights and with human rights education. We will focus on specific topics in relation to nationalism:

  • LGBT+ and gender issues
  • Minorities and cultures

The webinar is addressed  to human rights education practitioners in different fields, from public sector and grassroot organisations, but it is also open to youth field community: youth workers, youth trainers and others.

You will receive the programme and technical details of the event upon sign-up. Please send any relevant questions to maari.poim@archimedes.ee
